Founded
The Moonglows in the 1950s. Joined Anna Records and married
Gwen Gordy. The label was later sold to his brother-in-law
Berry Gordy and Fuqua became a longtime Motown songwriter and executive. Also established the Harvey (2) and Tri-Phi Records labels.
Had a special role in
Marvin Gaye's career as band mates in The Moonglows, as the man that introduced Gaye to Gordy and as the producer of Gaye's 1982 comeback album [m=66820], released shorty before Gaye was shot to death.
He is the nephew of
charlie fuqua and the uncle of
Antoine Fuqua.
