American vocalist, born in San Francisco, California on December 28, 1953.
She began her career as a backing vocalist for
Sylvester, after which she formed part of Two Tons O’ Fun which was renamed
The Weather Girls in 1982.
In 1989, Wash was asked by Italian act
Black Box record and demo their songs. Black Box retained Wash’s uncredited vocals on their debut album
Dreamland (1990). Wash sued and won her case. In the same year,
C + C Music Factory released Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) which used uncredited vocal parts that Wash had recorded. Wash successfully sued the group for sleeve credits in 1991.
