Born 1966 in Birmingham, McMenamin studied graphic design at Newcastle-upon-Tyne Polytechnic from 1987-1990. It was there that he met Vaughan Oliver during the latter's two-week teaching block. After graduating, McMenamin moved to London and helped v23 with occassional freelance work. Since then he has enjoyed an active role in many v23 projects.
