Swedish composer and musician primarily in electronic music, born 10 November 1953 in Solna.

He has studied music at Stockholm University, the Conservatorio del Lioceo, Barcelona and the Stockholm Academy of Music, among others. He was also one of the founders of the Lucky People Center (LPC).

Åkerlund collaborated with choreographer Per Jonsson and composed the music for his works Via Styx, Ur and Rivers of Mercury. With choreographer Björn Elisson and poet Johanna Ekström he has made the works Volt, Sken, Minnesdvärgar and the trilogy De allvetande hundarna [4] and with visual artist Maria Heimer Åkerlund he has made music and sound for several works, such as Fucking Airplanes, Fun in the Air and Exercis.
